INCLUDED ITEMS:

  • Olympus Trip 100 35mm film camera
  • Olympus case
  • Strap
  • 2x AA batteries
  • Roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 (may vary due to availability)

CONDITION:  Pre-owned. Film tested and fully working. Good condition, with normal signs of light use. Five photos from the test roll (shot with Kodak Portra 160) can be viewed in the images. Please note the low light and slow-speed (160 ISO) film used for these test shots were pushing the limitations of this camera and the results will be much different in better light (or with faster film).

MORE ABOUT THIS CAMERA:  The Trip 100 is an entry-level point and shoot from Olympus released in 1992. The construction is somewhat cheap and plastic and the functionality is very simple, so it sits in the space of being a great upgrade from disposable cameras whilst still maintaining a lot of that lo-fi disposable looking charm in the photos it takes. Some nice things about this camera are the built in sliding lens shield to keep the lens safe from harm when the camera is off as well as a manual control over the flash (a switch on the front of the camera) and manual control over the ISO settings (a switch on the bottom which can be set at 100/200 ISO or 400 ISO). These features are often not available on lower end point and shoots so its handy that they were included on the Trip 100. Its equipped with an Olympus 35mm f/8.0 autofocus lens which is fairly ideal for shooting people, landscapes, and holiday snaps in general. The limitations around its technical specs mean that it will struggle in low lighting situations, however for these scenarios using a faster speed film (e.g. 400 or 800 ISO) will improve the exposure. All up this is a fun camera that's perfect for sunny days or quick party snaps that you can take just about anywhere and not worry about too much.
