MORE ABOUT THIS CAMERA: The Minolta Riva Zoom 130 was released in 2002 and was also sold under the alternate names Minolta Freedom Zoom 130 in the USA and Minolta Capios 130S in Japan. It was one of the last film cameras to be produced by Minolta before the company's merger with Konica. The Riva Zoom series is known for taking high quality photos for a point and shoot film camera, especially indoors utilising the flash, and one of the cameras from this series was used by Robin Williams in the 2002 film One Hour Photo. The Riva Zoom 130 was geared towards those looking for more features and more control than the standard point and shoot user. This model offers focus lock, self-timer, landscape mode (i.e. infinity focus with flash off), red-eye reduction mode, fill-flash mode, flash-cancel mode, +1.5 EV exposure compensation mode, and a force-rewind option. It also has a number of external nice-to-haves such as a film confirmation window, LCD panel, tripod socket, and a built-in lens shield. It contains some advanced technology as well, and one of its special features is a 'silent rewind feature'. And whilst the flash mode does reset when you turn the camera off and on again, this model will remember whether you were using the auto flash or the red-eye reduction auto flash last and keep that setting for you. It also has a green flash-ready lamp that can be found within the viewfinder to let you know when the flash has been recharged. And, to save power, it cleverly turns itself off at times when it hasn't been used for 8 minutes. Overall the Riva Zoom 130 is an exceptional camera for those looking to get a little more out of their photographic adventures.
