MORE ABOUT THIS CAMERA:  Released in 1991, the Konica Top's was a slightly updated version of Konica's popular 1988 model the Pop-Super. The main updates seem to be a small change to the style of the body (most notable in the vertical orientation of the flash), the addition of a self-timer function, and an LCD display instead of the old manual counter - but other than these little tweaks everything else about this camera is roughly the same as the Pop-Super. Mechanically its fairly unsophisticated with an f/4.4 focus-free lens, fixed 1/125 sec shutter speed, and DX reading at two settings: 100/200 and 400 ISO, but to its credit it does have automatic flash, automatic film advance, power rewind, and a built-in lens shield. And the combination of all this means a very easy photo-taking experience for the user. The technical limitations of this camera does mean it can overexpose or underexpose photos on occasion (especially overexpose) - but we have found if you use a slower speed film (200 ISO is good, and 100 is even better) it reduces the likelihood of overexposure happening and can lead to some very charming vintage-style photos. The focus-free lens also helps create a soft-focus style retro dreamy look in many of the photos.
