MORE ABOUT THIS CAMERA: The Sure Shot Sleek is perhaps the ultimate travelling companion. It has a tough body, its built small, it has a built-in lens shield to keep the lens safe (this feature also acts as the on/off button), and its equipped with a fairly decent f/3.5 fixed-focus lens. It was released in 1996 as an upgraded version of the older Sure Shot M and retailed for ¥25,000 in Japan at the time of release. It was also marketed as the Prima Mini II in Europe and as the Autoboy F XL in Japan. Its a great camera for closeups as it features a fairly wide 32mm lens and can focus on subjects as close as 45cm away. It has quite a good "3 point intelligent autofocus system" and we have found it typically gets the focus right a good amount of the time. The focus-lock option is another desirable feature on this point & shoot, allowing you to focus on your subject by half-pressing the shutter and then it keeps that focus even if you move them away from the middle of the frame. The Sleek's major limiting feature is its shutter speed, which only goes as fast as 1/250 sec, and we have sometimes found using a slower speed film without strong lighting can cause blurry photos. It takes one CR123A battery, which are fairly affordable and commonplace in supermarkets, service stations and camera stores. Its quite user friendly, with only a few simple options, and a handy dial on the top which allows you to flick between flash modes and essentially maintain your flash settings even when the camera is turned off and back on again. It is auto-loading, auto-rewinding, has a manual frame counter (no LCD screen), and a self-timer option. This camera is definitely a great option if you're after something that's small, will take decent photos and will last a long time.
