MORE ABOUT THIS CAMERA:  The AF-10 XB is a fun point and shoot film camera released by Olympus in 2000. Although it has a cheap looking plastic body, it is robustly built and should survive the party life fairly well. It has a built-in lens shield to protect the lens when the camera is turned off and a built-in flash with AUTO, Red-eye Reduction, OFF and FILL-IN modes. It also features a tripod socket and has an LCD panel which displays the frame count, flash settings and battery level. It is powered by a single CR123A battery which are relatively cheap and readily available from supermarkets, service stations, and electrical and camera stores. Some AF-10 XB's had a Quartzdate feature, and conveniently these models don't require an additional battery to power this feature. It takes attractive photos reminiscent of the 1990s with a charming point and shoot vibe that is subject at times to vignetting (which means the corners and edges of the frame come out darker than the rest of the photo). It mid-level specs capable of achieving decent photos in most conditions, however it can struggle to handle a high-speed film in full sunlight, so in order to prevent over-exposure on these days its advisable to use a slower speed film, ideally 100 ISO. Overall this is a super fun camera that will consistently produce great photos with a tasteful element of point and shoot character.
