MORE ABOUT THIS CAMERA:  The Z-up 115e was released in 2002, making it one of the last film cameras Konica ever produced. It was designed for anyone to use, including beginners, however being a modern mid-priced camera it does carry a few advanced features such as a +1.5 EV (exposure value) which will over-expose the photo by 1.5 stops - or in simpler terms, make your photo brighter. Other features include a red-eye reduction flash mode, night portrait mode, infinity focus mode, focus lock, self-timer, automatic rewind, diopter control, lens shield and tripod mount. So a few options to play with if you're feeling adventurous, but if you don't touch anything at all it will still take great shots. In terms of specs, the headline numbers won't blow you away (aperture: f/4.1 to f/11.3, and shutter speed: 1/1.5 to 1/320), they just sit within a very functional range. Its the less obvious things that help this camera take great photos time and time again; things like the Konica lens with 10 elements in 8 groups and active autofocus (i.e. very sophisticated). The zoom range is more than adequate, extending from 38mm to 115mm, but be careful to hold the camera steady (or use a tripod) when utilising the zoom as it will exaggerate the affect of shaky hands. It has a DX decoding system that will automatically read the DX codes on films from 25 to 3200 ISO, which covers basically every popular film stock. The reload time for the flash is a fairly lacklustre 8 seconds, which is the result of Konica choosing to power this camera off one small CR2 battery, but the upside to this is that the camera body is fairly small for what it is. The CR2 batteries are fairly cheap to purchase and can be found at most supermarkets, camera shops, electronic stores, and often service stations as well. Overall, its a fun and versatile camera that consistently takes memorable and correctly-exposed / correctly-focused film photos if you are looking for a point and shoot with a decent zoom range.
